Important ways to support your team during COVID-19 Pandemic

Our lives and companies have been flipped upside down by the COVID-19 Pandemic. The global crisis is greatly impacting our economy, and small businesses are seeing these effects most poignantly. We want to ensure that we are providing the proper resources and support to be a helping hand during these demanding times.  

Leaning on each other and these programs is what will get us through. We want to share some of the great assistance programs available for support during these times. The following are resources specific to support both small companies and HR. 

Department of Labor (DOL) issued the first round of published guidance on the Paid Sick Leave and Expanded Family and Medical Leave under FFCRA.  It takes effect on April 1st. Here are some helpful links to reference with regard to the Act:

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation provides updates and resources regarding the COVID-19 crisis.

The Indiana Small Business Development Center Provides Free Advising based on your region in Indiana. 

Anthem Health, has an app called Sydney. This app gives you information regarding your health and healthcare plan. The information is then easy to access and all in one place.

Anthem also offers the LiveHealth Online, you have the ability to video conferences with board-certified doctors while staying within your own home. Members of the LiveHealth Online benefits can access the video service free of charge through June 14, 2020.

WorkLifeMatters Employee Assistance Program offers a hotline and email address that you can contact for assistance to help promote your overall health and well being. During a time like this, the essential need for an overall well being, maybe higher than usual. This program will provide the following: Help with Health, Help with Family, Help with Legal and Financial. Learn more details on their website

TalkSpace is an online counseling service that pairs you with a certified therapist to help walk you through your current situation. This service can be found here.  

The Small Business Administration is offering emergency loans to avoid layoffs and maintain operations during these times. More about the resources can be seen through this link
